Center for environmental education - National Park Muráň

The area under consideration is divided by a road into two parts. The first part with the original
the administrative building serves exclusively as a school in nature and an educational center,
the second part serves as an information and rest point and a store of sporting goods for
visitors. Part of the plot is a paved area with a connection to the road on which
we suggest a parking lot.
The intention of the reconstruction was to create a new concept of the area adapted to the needs
children during their stay in the environmental education center. The original administration building
it received an accommodation function supplemented by social and lecture spaces and spaces
common kitchen. There are rooms with bunk beds with their own
sanitary facilities, rooms with common sanitary facilities in the corridor and one
barrier-free room located on the ground floor. Window and door panels with edging are
along with a new roof structure and facade plaster tuned so that what
they fit most naturally into the surrounding wooded environment.
On the site of the original warehouse building, there is a proposed dining room with kitchen facilities. Big ones
it is directly connected to the outdoor terrace seating by glass surfaces.
The minimalist roofing between the buildings ensures the safe movement of children between
by them. The canteen premises are designed in such a way that, if necessary, they can be changed to
multifunctional space for various activities. The building is covered with vegetation
the roof, which smoothly passes through the sloped embankment to the ground level towards
street. It thus creates a vast living space accessible to the public. At this one
minimalist concept, the building is non-violently placed in the space, it naturally isolates
the yard from the street and a multiplies the feeling of greenery in the surroundings.
The exterior contains an entertainment and relaxation park directly connected to the residential staircase,
where there is also a fireplace in the open area. The park is equipped with a lot
game elements for leisure activities.
In front of the building there is an educational park, which is equipped with elements exclusively
educational character. It serves to get familiar with the type, size and shape of wood,
plants and animals, with their development and their natural environment for life.
The second plot on the opposite side of the street has a proposed reconstruction of the original building
warehouse to an information center for visitors and tourists. The building installed in
the sloping terrain is accessible from the ground on both floors. Towards the street
finds an info point, the so-called an area with seating and information panels and maps
local tourist routes. Toilets and a room are accessible from the opposite side
bicycle storage. The area has a proposed pond with vegetation, serving as
rainwater catcher. It is supplemented with sidewalks, furniture for sitting, stands for
bicycles and ornamental vegetation. The space is fully accessible to the public and except
informative, serves as a rest and relaxation park.
