Salezian Church
The basic feature of this transformation of the old theatre into a church is the unity and purification of the expression. This purpose is achieved by the disposition, rearrangement, redesign of windows, slim and tall roof lights in order to achieve the rhythm and optical enlargement of the building. Newly created windows will reach the basement which will enhance inner lighting.
The solution of the liturgical space, chorus and the ceiling is an important element. A sacrificial table is unusual in Slovak terms. It is made of papyrus placed on top of each other. A couple of wooden boxes with expressive light cross are placed under the choir. The space of the theatre moves is used for rooflight illumination of the shrine. Three vertical cuts are projected to the interior as stained glass.
The interior will be decorated by wooden furniture.
